The denarius was the primary silver coin of the Roman Empire until the early 3rd century AD. A common form of Roman currency. The denarius was the daily wage for laborers and soldiers in the late Roman Republic and early Roman Empire.

Elagabalus also known as Heliogabalus was a Roman emperor who reigned from 218 to 222 CE. 

Ancient Roman denarius featuring a portrait of Augustus on the obverse side. The reverse side Depicts the emperor, riding a sea-goat, a symbol of Augustus's birth sign, Capricorn, often wearing a wreath, which was a symbol of military victory and triumph in Rome.

The title "Augustus" was a religious rather than political title, adopted by Octavian, and later by all Roman emperors. 

Roman coins were used as a form of propaganda, linking leaders and their achievements to the gods.
